A fiercely independent man loses his good humor when petty criminals sideline his business in this comedy from Turkish filmmaker Yuksel Aksu. Ali (Turan Ozdemir) is an ice cream peddler who takes unusual pride in his work; rather than carry the mass-produced treats churned out by the major manufacturers, Ali makes his own ice cream from natural ingredients and sells it himself using a scooter he's fitted with a refrigerated case. Eager to boost his business, Ali makes a television commercial and buys air time to make people aware of the superiority of his product; business is good until a pack of mischievous kids led by Tingoz Kerim (Ismet Can Suda) steal his motorbike while he's not looking. While Ali is furious and determined to get his property back, he has the wrong idea about who the culprit happens to be -- Ali is convinced one of his larger competitors has heisted the bike to keep his high-quality treats off the market. Dondurman Gaymak (aka Ice Cream I Scream) received its North American premiere at the 2007 Palm Springs International Film Festival.~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
