Istanbul (Not Constantinople)

In Crossing the Bridge: the Sound of Istanbul, director Faith Akin presents a glimpse into the cultural landscape of Istanbul, Turkey, with an emphasis on the city's music. Featuring Baba Zula, Replikas, Erkin Koray and many other well-known Turkish musicians, the film portrays a beautiful cross section of a vibrant musical community. The Sound of Istanbul screens for free as part of St. Charles Community College's Projections International Film Festival at the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building Auditorium (4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
