It's All Treat, No Trick

Get into the ghoulish spirit with thirteen nights of bats, haunted houses, ghostly photo ops and straw mazes during the Saint Louis Zoo's festive event Boo at the Zoo. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly (October 17 through 30), adults and children can run through Fragile Forest Fairyland, spin around on the "scare-ou-sel," hear animal-themed stories around the campfire and make crafts. It's not all spooky, though -- there's a guided tour through a "Not So Sleepy Hollow" with the zoo's own Ichabod "Crowned" Crane. Kids are encouraged to dress in costume, and visitors twelve and younger receive a treat bag on the way out. A bigger treat for adults? Free parking, food for purchase and a chance to get even more wear out of your kid's costume. Admission to Boo at the Zoo is $6 to $7, and there are additional fees for the hike and carousel rides ($5 and $3, respectively). For more information, call 314-646-4771 or visit www.stlzoo.org.
