Jazz Musicians, Off-Stage

Photographer Lourdes Delgado uses a large-format camera to stage portraits of New York's jazz luminaries in their home environment; no, their actual homes, not on-stage in various clubs. Lourdes Delgado: Jazz in New York -- A Community of Visions features more than 50 photographs that reveal in lush detail a more private side of musicians such as Christian McBride, Anna Povich, Stanley Crouch and David Sanborn. The exhibit remains on display in the Sheldon Art Gallery (3648 Washington Boulevard; 314-533-9900 or www.thesheldon.org) through Saturday, January 15. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, and admission is free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 21. Continues through Jan. 15, 2010
