Jessica Lea Mayfield

9 p.m. Friday, May 13. Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp Avenue.

Jessica Lea Mayfield is still way too young. The neo-country singer, who sounds like the mellow lost member of Those Darlins, released her 2008 debut, With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, when she was just 19. Now 21, she's got another blue-hued album, Tell Me, under her belt, and this one's backed by a crack team: producer Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and guitarist Richie Kirkpatrick. Though the tone of the new album is often somber beyond her years, and her distortion-dabbling sound draws from sunny guitar pop of the '60s and '90s, Mayfield's youth is revealed in a still-girlish lilt that dips into twang on highlights like "Blue Skies Again."
