Joanie Loves Bocce

Don’t you?

Gas prices are around four dollars a gallon, and our country struggles to wean itself from its dependency on foreign oil. Who wants to think about fuel right now? It’s time we talked about a better sort of Fuel — the kind that promotes the city of St. Louis through networking opportunities, social gatherings and volunteer efforts, and offers a different kind of energy for the city’s young professionals. Fuel is just this sort of group, and it holds monthly happy hours at various watering holes across the city. This month’s meet-up takes place at 6 p.m. at Milo’s Bocce Garden (5201 Wilson Avenue; 314-776-0468). As the name implies, Milo’s is famous for its outdoor bocce courts, where well-seasoned lawn-bowlers from the surrounding Hill neighborhood and visiting amateurs can share strategies and techniques.
