The aviation field is always on the leading edge of technological developments, which means the industry relies heavily on scientific research to progress. The Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue; 314-289-4400 or www.slsc.org), home to more than a few science and technology buffs, practices a little synergy with Air Force Week this Monday through Friday (July 2 through 6; free admission); the servicemen and -women who utilize the latest in aviation science stop by every day to discuss how physics and science make their jobs possible. Mondays speakers include a para-rescuer (at 11:30 a.m.) and an explosive ordinance disposal technician (at 12:30 p.m.). A NASA rep visits on Thursday, and the week ends on a high note with Tops in Blue, a musical variety show performed by Air Force personnel. Do not request Danger Zone -- thats for Naval pilots only.
