Karlovsky & Company Dance

Oh, to spend a weekend in grand Paree, or anywhere in France for that matter! There's almost nothing there that doesn't inspire: listening to moving music, wending through picturesque streets, noshing on macarons, quiche, cheese, croque-madame -- you get the idea. Our fair city with its peculiarly pronounced street names has French roots, and this weekend, those will be celebrated, along with French language, art, history and music, during French Connections. This dance concert, presented by Karlovsky & Company Dance, embraces our link to France via modern movement, live music by composers Satie and Debussy among others, video and more. In other words, inspiration abounds, and close to home.

8 p.m. Fri. & Sat. (Apr. 3-4). Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-561-4877 or www.cocastl.org). $13 to $20.
Fri., April 3, 8 p.m.; Sat., April 4, 8 p.m., 2015
