Keepin' Time

Old time, that is

With all of the electronic devices that you've integrated into your everyday life, it's a good idea to unplug once in a while and remember that you can survive even after your cell phone gets dropped in the bathtub (again). The historic Cahokia Courthouse (107 Elm Street, Cahokia, Illinois) makes unplugging easy with the Old Time Music Fête, happening from noon to 5 p.m. This free outdoor festival features music acts on the main stage, plus musicians under every tree, playing bluegrass, folk, blues and old-time country. Kids can participate in arts-and-crafts projects, and food and drinks will be sold so everyone can enjoy an afternoon picnic. For more information call the courthouse at 618-332-1782 or visit www.jarrotmansion.org.
