Part of the Michael Del Pietro group of restaurants (Sugo's Spaghetteria, Luciano's Trattoria), Kilkenny's Pub in Clayton, on North Central Avenue, just south of Maryland Avenue, features drinks and pub-grub for the locals with an Irish thirst, even offering it namesake Irish cream ale on draft. In addition to pouring out a number of other beers and ales, Kilkenny's offers a menu with the usual bar food found in an Irish pub. Starters include housemade chips, soft pretzels, buffalo wings and hummus served with pita, tomatoes, black olives and feta. Burgers and sandwiches dominate the rest of the food, including a Reuben, BLT and club wrap with grilled chicken, bacon, Provel, veggies and ranch. Burgers come with fries, onion rings, chips, cottage cheese or fruit and are served several different ways, such as Mike's burger with cheddar, caramelized onions, and barbecue sauce or the Frisco melt with swiss, lettuce, tomato and Thousand Island on sourdough bread. Kilkenny's is open until 1:30 a.m. every day and is closed on Sundays.
