The garden's 2012 lantern festival was both a critical and popular favorite, offering attendees an opportunity to experience an event rarely staged outside of China. This year's installment is open 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday (May 23 to July 31) and nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. August 1 through 23. Admission is $5 to $22.
