Let There Be Light

Nite Brite's outta sight

Remember poking those multicolor plastic pegs through the black-and-white outline to create colorful designs with Hasbro's Lite-Brite? Inspired by that beloved toy, St. Louis ArtWorks' Nite Brite fundraiser offers participants a similar experience — on a much larger scale. Artists and spectators alike gather between 6 and 9 p.m. at Lumen (2201 Locust Street; 314-241-5757) to help construct a colossal lighted mural while snacking, sipping and perusing art made by the teen apprentices of ArtWorks. Will the attendee-generated mural turn out to be a classic Lite-Brite clown or wizard? There's only one way to find out. Tickets for the fundraiser benefiting St. Louis ArtWorks' teen job-training and arts-education programs are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. To RSVP, call 314-289-4182 or visit www.stlartworks.org.
