Let's Go Parking

It's time to party

Four very important ingredients work together to make a great party. Leave one out, and your shindig will be just OK. Forget two, and people might not even come. Fortunately, from 5 to 8 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month this summer, you'll never have to worry about enduring an event that's lacking anything because the folks behind Parties in the Park have the formula down. First, they've picked a wonderful setting; Shaw Park (South Brentwood and Forsyth boulevards, Clayton; www.partiesinthepark.org) is a completely delightful site. But what's a location without music? You need danceable acts like the Ralph Butler Band (performing at Shaw on Wednesday, May 14) to keep the crowds grooving and happy. And as for the last two essentials — waterfalls of alcohol and no admission charge — well, Parties in the Park easily succeed on these fronts as well.
Second Wednesday of every month. Starts: May 14. Continues through Sept. 10, 2008
