It may not have sold as many copies as Frampton Comes Alive or Cheap Trick's Live at Budokan, but the Who's Live at Leeds just might be the quintessential live album. Recorded in 1970, Leeds found the band straddling the line between its initial mod- and beat-influenced incarnation and its later role as rock-opera superpowers. The Stag Night All-Stars, including members of Team Tomato, Walkie Talkie U.S.A. and Red-headed Strangers, will perform selections from Live at Leeds in honor of the 37th anniversary of the album's release. Over subsequent reissues, the song list has jumped from the initial six to thirty-three. That leaves the All-Stars with nearly every Who hit to choose from, though it will be worth the price of admission to hear the All-Stars work through the nine-minute mini-opera "A Quick One While He's Away" perhaps the Who's finest moment.
