Will magician extraordinaire Keith Jozsef summon Jack the Ripper? Find out this weekend!

As any Johnny Depp fan worth her well-worn From Hell T-shirt knows (mmm, Johnny Depp, ahhhh), there's much speculation about the Jack the Ripper slayings. Everyone seems to have some kind of theory -- and a book or a song about it, for that matter -- but no one alive can say that they know the unequivocal truth or the killer's name...that is, until now. After this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Monday, October 28, 29 and 31 -- Monday is a holiday, so we're considering it part of the weekend), lucky St. Louisans may have a very firm grasp on the identity of Victorian London's Whitechapel prostitute killer following their escape from the quite-appropriate, British-style Cheshire Inn (6300 Clayton Road). That's because the Inn is where the amazing magician Keith Jozsef (pictured, and not so bad-looking himself) is holding séances to (potentially) rouse ol' Jack's spirit!

And as if those séances won't be positively scary and exciting enough, St. Louis' "Master of Bizarre Magic" plans to further live up to his title during this fourth annual Keith Jozsef Halloween Magic Spectacular by also doing a little direct mind-reading and telekinesis. (Psst, moving stuff with your mind makes you more magic and bizarre than anyone we've ever met, Mr. Jozsef.) Tickets to participate in a performance cost $10, and...oh, wait. What's that? You'd like to merely attend one of the shows? Too bad. There's room for only 50 brave souls per paranormal presentation, and these folks must be willing to actually take part in the magic moments. So maybe you could agree to have your mind read (and reveal your true love of Deppers or Morrissey -- his "Jack the Ripper" song is top- notch) or something of that nature.

The Halloween Magic Spectacular shows are held at 7:30 and 9:15 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 7:30 p.m. on Halloween Monday. Call 314-752-9882 to reserve your spot, and please, for the love of all that is good, don't wear that stinky From Hell shirt.
