Business is slow in Kildare, Ireland. The recession has cut jobs everywhere, and the former stream of customers into Aiden's corner store has slowed to an occasional drip. But one of those drips is Gertie, an old woman with a surprising amount of buying power: She has a winning lottery ticket in hand and just needs to claim that sweet cash. But possession is nine-tenths of the law, so whoever has the ticket has the cash. Do Aiden and Dee have larceny (or worse) in them? Robert Massey's comedy Chancers posits that desperate people make for horrible neighbors. Max & Louie Productions presents Chancers at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday (October 30 through November 16) at the Kranzberg Arts Center (501 North Grand Boulevard; 314-795-8778 or Tickets are $25 to $30.
Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 30. Continues through Nov. 16, 2014
