Luck Be a Lady

On Wednesday, May 30, at 7 p.m., the curtains rise on the Black Rep’s production of the musical Guys and Dolls at the Grandel Theatre (3610 Grandel Square). Based on a story by Damon Runyon and directed by company founder Ron Himes, this production promises “sinners, saints and sucker beats.” Gary E. Vincent plays the part of Nathan Detroit, a man so desperate for cash to secure a location for his illegal floating crap game, he bets high-roller Sky Masterson (J. Samuel Davis) that the latter cannot win the affections of pure-hearted Sarah Brown (Sophia Stephens). But will he? Tickets cost $10 to $40 and can be purchased at 314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com. After opening night, you can catch the show at 7 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday through July 1. Visit www.theblackrep.org or call the Black Rep box office for details at 314-534-3810.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: May 31. Continues through July 1
