Lust for Life

And parties! And diamonds!

More often than not, lust is considered a naughty thing. When most people think of that four-letter word, ideas of love, maturity and longevity promptly announce their departure, as fleeting glimmers of the fun parts of lust (unbridled passion, to name just one) sneak out of the bedroom without waking you. Why is that? Lust can be good, if only on a temporary basis; experiencing intense emotions even briefly can make you feel more alive. So go ahead and let loose at the Young Friends of the Shakespeare Festival of St. Louis' Shakespeare in Love (or Is It Lust?) party held at the Moolah Theatre & Lounge (3821 Lindell Boulevard). Everyone who attends this one-night stand gets a cubic zirconia — and one lucky attendee gets the real thing! The lustful affair, complete with cocktails and jewelry-modeling, runs from 8 p.m. to midnight, and tickets cost $25 to $30; for more information call the Shakespeare Festival at 314-361-0101 or visit
