Master of Suspense

More than 30 years after his death, film director Alfred Hitchcock is still Hollywood's most revered sultan of spook. Mr. Hitchcock's enduring legacy and impact on suspense and psychological thriller cinema is this week at Super 8 Alfred Hitchcock Movie Madness at the Way Out Club (2525 Jefferson Avenue, 314-664-7638). Per Special 8 Movie Madness format, eighteen-minute condensed versions of Hitchcock's greatest films, including North by Northwest, Psycho and Frenzy, as well as promo reels and a 16mm print of an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents will be screened. Event director Tom Stockton also hosts Hitch-themed trivia with prizes for knowledgeable film fans throughout the evening. The flicks begin rolling at 8 p.m., and admission is $3 at the door.
