Miller's Patterns

Not every darling of the scene deserves the title, but Casey Miller of the beloved Mud House is a worthy candidate. Miller's aesthetic and vision are strong; the style and ambiance of the Mud House is no accident. Her work is cute and playful, with hints of her love for vintage wares peeking through, but without a saccharine aftertaste. Most of Miller's work inspires a sense of joy -- just as the artist herself does. The fine folks at Hoffman LaChance Contemporary (2713 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood; 314-960-5322 or are also fans. Casey Miller: Advance Pattern opens with a free reception from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight at the gallery. The show remains up through the end of the month, and the gallery is open noon to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Fri., April 18, 6-10 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 12-3 p.m. Starts: April 18. Continues through May 3, 2014
