MoBOT's Orchids Look Gorgeous in New Photos

The Missouri Botanical Garden's annual orchid show kicks off this weekend, but digital artist Dan Wampler got in early for a sneak peek. Wampler captured the beautiful flowers using both color film and Life Pixel's Infrared conversion technology. Infrared photography utilizes a key portion of the light spectrum that the human eye can't see, giving photos a ghostly look -- perfect for otherworldly orchids. Check out Wampler's website for more details about his work or catch one of his workshops. For more on the orchids, the show is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (February 3 to March 25) at the Missouri Botanical Garden (4344 Shaw Boulevard; 314-577-9400 or www.mobot.org).
