Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker

You have your choice of Nutcrackers during the holiday season, but you'd be a fool to miss the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker. The dancing is of the highest quality, the lavish costumes are hand-sewn and the puppets are life-size. But it's the spectacular Dove of Peace dance that elevates the show. Two ballerinas become one great winged dove right before your eyes through the Russian magic of dance, costuming and Christmas. So come for the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, but be transfixed by the power of two dancers in white. 7 p.m. Tue., Dec. 2. Peabody Opera House (1400 Market Street; 314-499-7600 or $35-$89.
