Mr. Smith's World

Jun 27, 2013 at 4:00 am
Like an anthropologist from an alternate universe, you can explore the work and worlds of James M. Smith at his latest exhibition, Unscripted, at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art (3663 Lindell Boulevard; 314-977-2666 or www.sluma.slu.edu). The St. Louis native's drawings, paintings and sculptural creations are based on a personal mythology that resonates with his love of desert environments, and also reflects concerns about our own ties to the land. James M. Smith: Unscripted opens with a free public reception from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28. The work remains up through Sunday, August 25, and the gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 28. Continues through Aug. 25, 2013
