Murder Was the Case

There are some things we'd like to believe no longer have a place in our world, and hate crimes probably top that list. It takes someone strong to confront these horrors and to delve into why these acts are still rampant in our society. If you are such a person, check out the New Jewish Theatre's production of David Gow's Cherry Docs. This play is named after the cherry-colored Dr. Martens boots favored by skinheads, and it follows the relationship between a court-appointed Jewish lawyer and a skinhead accused of murder. Performances of this difficult work happen at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday (January 23 through February 10). For more information or to purchase tickets ($20 to $28), call 314-442-3283 or visit www.newjewishtheatre.org. The New Jewish Theatre presents Cherry Docs in the Wolfson Studio Theatre at the Jewish Community Center (2 Millstone Campus Drive, Creve Coeur).
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Jan. 23. Continues through Feb. 10, 2008
