Zach Wahls became famous when a video of him standing up for his two moms (and same-sex couples everywhere) at the Iowa House Judiciary Committee with an impassioned speech went viral. Wahls' words serve as inspiration and support for same-sex couples and their children, and Wahls himself as an example of a smart, successful, balanced young adult who was raised by two women. He elaborates on this message in his book, My Two Moms: Lessons of Love, Strength and What Makes a Family. Wahls visits Left Bank Books (321 North Tenth Street; 314-436-3049 or www.left-bank.com) this Thursday at 7 p.m. for a reading and signing. 10% of book sales will benefit the LGBT Center of St. Louis.
