Night of Almost 1,000 Stars

How many people have had the opportunity to make their stage debut at the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard)? Tonight, more than 700 people will do just that. The Eighth Annual St. Louis Performing Arts Night, hosted by master of ceremonies Gene Dobbs Bradford, features students from local elementary, middle and high schools demonstrating their talents in musical theater, opera, dance, choir and band. The twenty-five participating schools represent six school districts, including the Clayton School District, the Archdiocese of St. Louis, East St. Louis School District #189 and St. Louis Public Schools. The showcase starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free, but tickets must be obtained from the Fox box office; call 314-534-1678 or visit to acquire yours.
