No Blasters!

It's like Ten Forward, but real

Late call from the Subliminal Kid. "Get on your shai hulud and meet me at the Sci Fi Lounge at 8 p.m." Hmpf. Kid knows I traded in that sand-guzzler for an X-34 Landspeeder weeks ago. If he's making mistakes, that can only mean somebody hit him with a Ceti eel. Shame to have to retire the Kid, but that's why they hire me. They want that old bladerunner magic. Or maybe the Kid just wants to look at all the toys on display, check out the dioramas and the crowd they attract. Can't say I blame him. You'll never see a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than at the Sci Fi Lounge, but in the good way. Gamers, science-fiction fans, futurists — people with their eyes on the stars and their imaginations light-years away. And it's Magic Mystery Tuesday, which means creature features from 8 p.m. to midnight. Sure, that'd be a good way to unwind — and when you've spent as much time on the Nostromo as I have, you need to relax. Sometimes it feels like my chest's gonna burst from the stress. All right, it's decided: Set the controls for the heart of Skinker-DeBalivere — 6010 Kingsbury Avenue. Admission is $2. For more information, make like Count Zero and surf over to
