Traditional furniture showrooms are sometimes a little depressing. All those sofas and end tables neatly arranged and devoid of yellowing newspapers, unidentifiable stains or even pennies down in the cushions. Devoid of, well, real life and originality. Notaa Gallery (465 North Taylor Avenue) is never guilty of this crime. Notaa's wares are stylish, unique, capable of inspiring where-did-you-ever-find-that questions that most people don't ask after seeing a cookie-cutter set from Carol House Furniture. Er, no offense, Brook and Amy Dubman. Better still, the Notaa Gallery also regularly features exhibits from non-furniture-based artists. Tonight from 7 to 11 p.m., you can enjoy outstanding works by Justin Tolentino, Cbabi Bayoc and Jane Linders (representing the media of painting, painting and alternative photography, respectively), as well as glass art by Brian Goldenberg and the multimedia creations of William Lobdell. The show remains on display through Thursday, August 31. For more information on the gallery, call 314-361-5105 or visit
