If you're interested in the state of the art in tattooing, the Saint Louis Old School Tattoo Expo is the place to be. Lyle Tuttle's annual show stars dozens of tattoo artists from across the country, and they all take appointments onsite. If you're a working artist, the expo's seminars on everything from basic machine maintenance and shop management to the latest techniques. This year's show also includes some of the oldest techniques; you can go the oldest-of-old school routes and get a traditional hand-poke tattoo done in the Japanese style. Throw in the daily shows and contests for people to show off their existing work and you've got a full weekend.
