Vintage shopping can be so fun and rewarding -- searching through racks, hunting in boxes, rummaging through shelves, diligently seeking the perfect addition to your closet or accessories cache. Sure, it's time-consuming, but if you devote a whole day, some gas money and a bunch of patience, you're bound to come up with some most excellent, new-to-you treasures. Oh, but you're pressed for time, you say? Short on gas money, you cry? Why then, head over to Crown Square (North 14th Street and St. Louis Avenue) for Spring Fling in the City. Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this vintage and handmade fair gathers plenty of vendors conveniently together in one spot, saving your gas money and greatly increasing your shopping time -- how lovely! Expect to browse housewares, clothes, jewelry and much more, as you listen to live music and munch on food-truck eats (also note Crown Candy Kitchen and La Mancha Coffeehouse are in the nabe, too). Check out www.parsimoniaspringfling.blogspot.com for a full list of vendors and to learn more; admission is free.
