Olympic Strength

Frosty fundraiser

When each summer rolls around, Ms. Day can't wait to hit the water. Yet when she arrives poolside, her tummy fills up with butterflies and her nervousness about the water's temperature preemptively gets her teeth a-chattering. And that's during a warm-weather period! She can't even imagine the guts it will take for her to take a dip right now! But she's going to go ahead and suit up with the hundreds of other brave (crazy?) souls for today's Polar Bear Plunge, a fundraiser for Special Olympics Missouri. The frigid waters of Lake St. Louis will serve as the place to plunge. To join us, raise a minimum of $50 for the charity and show up by 2 p.m. at the Lake St. Louis Community Association (100 Cognac Court). Polar Bear participants must be at least fourteen years old, and everyone will receive a commemorative sweatshirt. To learn more and to pre-register, visit www.somo.org/plunge.
