On Chisholm's Trail

There's no question that Stan Chisholm, winner of the 2008 edition of Art Attack! and newly minted RFT MasterMind, is an artist on the rise. His ability to mix styles and media recently erupted in the creation of more than 700 characters in the form of paper-plate masks for NewPopII, the first half of a two-part exhibit that opens this weekend. The always charming Hoffman LaChance Gallery (2713 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood; 314-960-5322 or www.hoffmanlachancefineart.com) hosts NewPopII, in which Chisholm explores the makeup of humanity via pop-culture imagery intertwined with bits of personal and American history. NewPopII opens with a free public reception from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, September 3, and remains on display Friday and Saturday through Saturday, September 25.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 3. Continues through Sept. 25, 2010

Speaking of Highlights, Stan Chisholm
