Open to Higher Interpretation

Let's play a little game of "What Do You Know?" First question: Were you aware that the world's first interfaith museum of contemporary religious and spiritual art calls St. Louis home? No? How about the fact that this Museum of Contemporary Religious Art, or MOCRA, appropriately is located in a space that was both a chapel and a place of philosophical study? Nope? Last question: Do you have plans from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 16? If not, be sure to swing by the free opening reception of Thresholds: MOCRA at 20 -- Part 2, the museum's twentieth-anniversary exhibition. Featuring spiritual works in a variety of media -- from sculpture to painting, and from video to movie posters -- by Israeli, Cuban, Guatemalan, Irish, Chinese and American artists, among others, this exhibition highlights the last ten years at the museum and gives voice to its impact here, and everywhere. Thresholds remains on view from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday until Sunday, May 18. MOCRA is located at 3700 West Pine Mall Boulevard on the campus of Saint Louis University; visit mocra.slu.edu to learn more.
Tuesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Feb. 16. Continues through May 18, 2014
