Opening Reception: Alessandro Gallo & Michael Velliquette

Duane Reed Gallery Uploaded by Duane Reed Gallery
Michael Velliquette
Duane Reed Gallery presents shows from two craftsmen in the top of their fields. Paper sculptor Michael Velliquette's “The Song I Came to Sing" presents detail-intensive new works, each piece taking up to 500 hours. Velliquette elevates humble paper into divine structures suggesting fortress-like constructions or tiered mandalas. Ceramicist Alessandro Gallo's show "Monologues" presents the largest show of his work to date, presenting his signature humor in using animals to portray social connotations or idiomatic expressions.
