Otter-Wiedersehen to Summer!

With the introduction of Otter Pops — the much-beloved, character-driven frozen treats — the tenuous connection between otters and music was reduced to tenu-was: Fruit juice plus otters equaled "pops," a taste and musical sensation! Leave it to the Saint Louis Zoo in Forest Park to one-up the formula: Saturday and Sunday (September 23 through October 8), the zoo presents its annual Ottertoberfest, the German-themed, lederhosen-lovin' celebration that finally unites oompa music and those adorable sea weasels. In addition to foods and brews for the adults, the zoo sponsors live entertainment and otter-centric activities for the kiddos (dam-building and belly-sliding, perchance?). Ottertoberfest runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free; call 314-781-0900 or visit www.stlzoo.org for more information.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Sept. 23. Continues through Oct. 8
