Out with the Cold

In with the Fruehling

Now that Old Man Winter has been put on ice for another year, it's time to spring out of that igloo you've been haunting and celebrate the return of the sun days! To help you, the historic town of Maeystown, Illinois, hosts the Fruehlingsfest Antique & Garden Show. This event features more than 40 antique dealers (from no less than six states) who offer up their charming olden wares alongside a bushel of the region's finest nurseries presenting annuals, perennials and herbs. Fruehlingsfest takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. around the stone mill in the city center. Eats aplenty — including bratwurst, barbecue and funnel cakes — should keep stomachs from grumbling, and guests are invited to soak up the ambience at the creek-side wine garden. Admission is free. For all of the details and directions, call 618-458-6660 or visit www.maeystown.com.
