Party All the Time

Hey, it's for a good cause!

Most people agree: Parties are good things. We have parties for birthdays, anniversaries, departures, arrivals, weddings — you name it. What we don't often have are parties to launch other parties, which is a huge oversight. The folks at Saint Louis Effort for AIDS recognize this, so they are hosting the Thirst for Life Kickoff Party this evening from 7 to 10 p.m. at Just John (4112 Manchester Avenue). At this shindig, which benefits the Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS) program and others offered by EFA, DJs spin (including Sinamin and Dave Y, who's pictured), burlesque keeps it sexy, art is created on the spot, plus food and drinks are included with your $25 wristband! That's a lot of party! And all of this merriment is a way to get you excited about Thirst for Life, essentially a party in and of itself. During Thirst for Life, which is happening at the end of the month, area eateries and watering holes donate a portion of their beverage sales to PAWS. (In other words, you're basically going to be boozing it up for a good cause — sounds like a party to us!) To learn more about both events, call 314-333-6671 or visit
