Although vocalist/guitarist Zeke Buck co-founded Louisville discotheque divas VHS or Beta, the melodies he pens with new band People Noise largely take their cues from glacial shoegazing bliss-outs. Demos posted on the group's MySpace page ( should please My Bloody Valentine obsessives, fans of Ride's reverb cloudbursts and Swervedriver's harmonic hymns. Take special note of echoing highlight "The Killing Fields," which sounds like the Catherine Wheel piped through a roaring wind tunnel and dragged through molasses. Why spend Friday night shaking your booty when you can spend it staring at your shoes?
