Pig Party

Fans of the eloquent letter-writing dog Ike (star of the Dear Mrs. Larue series of childrens books) are already familiar with the sly wit of author/illustrator Mark Teague. Teague's new book, Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf, is in the same vein. The famous pigs from the nursery rhyme are surprised when the farmer decides to sell the farm and retire to Florida, leaving them out in the cold. Building shelter is their first order of business, which each pig completes to various degrees of success. Then it's time to eat, which means junk food for two of the pigs and healthy vegetables for the sensible piggie. When the wolf shows up, he too is hungry; can he be fobbed off with vegetables as well? No spoilers here, but it is a childrens book, so don't be surprised if lessons are learned.
