Along south Hampton Avenue, located near the Holly Hills Avenue intersection, sits the small, almost hidden from view, Plato Café. With patio seating and several cozy tables and chairs inside, this neighborhood café serves up coffee and sandwiches in a warm, casual atmosphere. Menu items include tuna and chicken-salad sandwiches, and a Russian-salad sandwich with turkey, potatoes, peas, carrots, hard-boiled egg, pickles and pepper jack mixed together with a touch of mayo. All sandwiches come on the diner's choice of croissant, bagel or toast, and come with a side of chips or an apple. Beverages include a variety of lattes and espresso drinks, hot tea, juice and smoothies. Plato Café also offers a few sweet treats, including a Nutella-and-walnut crêpe.
