Play Nice

The wedgies and swirlies of yesteryear have been replaced with brutal and persistent psychological bullying, and this modern persecution doesn’t end when the bell rings. According to the National Crime Prevention Center, more than 40 percent of all teenagers with Internet access reported being harassed online during 2010. No More Bullying aims to address this troubling issue that burdens many young students. The free event, taking place at St. Louis Mills Mall (5555 St. Louis Mills, Hazelwood; 314-227-5555) today, will include guest speakers Tina Meier (the mother of Megan Meier, who took her own life three weeks prior to her fourteenth birthday because of cyberbullying) and Alex Boles (founder of unwrittenlettersproject.com), and will also include games, prizes and information for families on how to detect early signs of bullying. No More Bullying will be held inside the iceZONE skating rink at Entry 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
