Attend medical school — on the cheap!

The Saint Louis Science Center's Family Med School Basics programs offer an ideal opportunity for parents to nudge impressionable children into prestigious careers in medicine. Families receive appetizer courses from Washington University graduate and medical students and researchers, who provide hands-on medical instruction with an emphasis on healthy living. The session on Thursday, September 11, focuses on the lungs and respiratory system, while the lessons on Thursday, October 9, and Thursday, November 13, detail the digestive and nervous systems, respectively. Participants will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Saint Louis Science Center (5050 Oakland Avenue). Cost is $40 per family per session, and children must be enrolled in at least the fifth grade to attend. Space is limited, so call 314-289-1488 to make reservations; visit for more information.
