It takes little more than a scratch behind the ears, a bacon-flavored treat and the words “wanna go for a walk?” to turn your average pup into a tail-wagging ball of glee. But if you seek to make your dog truly, stratospherically joyful, take her to the Chesterfield K-9 Splash at the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center (16365 Lydia Hill Drive, Chesterfield). Today from 4:30 to 8 p.m., dogs and their people can enjoy a refreshing swim. This woof-worthy occasion is part of the Greyhound Planet 2007 celebration, which aims to raise awareness about the many greyhounds in need of loving homes. The cost is $7 per dog and $3 per human, and all dogs must have written proof of current vaccinations. Call 314-517-1941 or visit for more information about other dates and locations of imminent dog swims.
