Post 'n' Found

Peeping Toms, eavesdroppers and cyber-snoopers can now rejoice: The practice of poking into the private lives of strangers has been transformed from a crime into art. At least that’s the claim of Davy and Peter Rothbart and Frank Warren, the men behind Found magazine and the PostSecret Web site, respectively. The Rothbarts started Found to storehouse revealing photos, notes and personal correspondence discarded by their previous owners; Warren’s site encourages people to create postcards emblazoned with their deepest secrets and submit them anonymously. Get your voyeuristic kicks when the Rothbarts and Warren appear tonight at 8 p.m. at Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street; 314-771-8230 or as part of the Found vs. PostSecret Charity Tour. Both parties will have examples of their choicest finds, and copies of Found #5 will be for sale. Admission is $15, with proceeds benefiting Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Hopeline.
