Have you ever wondered what a piece of art would say about the mind of the person who created it? Have you ever thought of the human brain’s responses to outside stimuli serving as an inspiration for that art? Don’t feel bad, we haven’t either. Fortunately, local artist and philosopher Lucian Krukowski and local textile artist/psychotherapist Sun Smith-Foret have considered these topics for us in their new exhibit, Interior States: An Investigation of the Human Psyche on Canvas and Quilt. This free exhibit opens with a reception on Friday, November 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Gallery at the Regional Arts Commission (6128 Delmar Boulevard). After viewing this show, you might never look at (or think about) quilts and paintings in quite the same way again. For more information, including gallery hours, visit or call 314-863-5811. Interior States runs through Sunday, December 2.
