Put the "U" in Ridiculous

Friday is your playground

Skip work today, indulge in at least two naps, and perhaps eat a very large bowl of a wheat-based breakfast cereal, because tonight you're going to exhaust yourself at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.contemporarystl.org). What's on tap? How's about a screening of epochal sci-fi film Metropolis (with soundtrack by Queen!), a trio of poets (Andrew Lundwall, Rauan Klassnik and Daniela Olszewska) reading their individual works, a dance performance by members of the aTrek Dance Collective and — and — a set by the band STRIVE. Ridiculous, you say? You mean, "Playground of the Ridiculous." A biweekly arts-overload with free admission, Playground of the Ridiculous takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. every other Friday (June 27 through July 25); and Bud Selects are only a buck each. Perhaps they should've called it Playground of the Ridonkulous.
