Putting the Great in Great Dane

We understand that sometimes you have to succumb to your inner theater junkie and pay real money to watch lions, blood-sucking plants and men with scissors for hands sing and dance. Don't be ashamed. But when you're ready to delve back into the abyss of murder, vengeance and betrayal that marks the best work of the Bard, we'll see you at the recently renovated Black Cat Theatre (2810 Sutton Boulevard, Maplewood) for none other than Hamlet. Jason Cannon stars as Hamlet, with Joneal Joplin as the Ghost (Hamlet's dad), Lavonne Byers as Gertrude and Gary Wayne Barker as Claudius in what is sure to be a memorable theater experience. Vanity Theatre presents Hamlet at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday (March 15 through April 1). Tickets are $15 to $20 (cash or check only). To reserve your tickets, call 314-535-2216 and check out www.blackcattheatre.org for more information.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 15. Continues through April 1
