Quilters Batting 1,000

Ballwin's Bits 'n' Pieces Quilt Guild has organized the season's quintessential quilting event, the 2012 Fanfare of Quilts show. This is no piecemeal, patchwork production -- Fanfare of Quilts is home to more than 400 quality quilts, including the acclaimed Dad's Lone Star collaboration, from award-winning quilter Ricky Tims and his father, Richard Lee Tims. Key vendors from around the country will be in attendance, and expert appraiser Ann Hazelwood will be on hand to determine the value of your family's antique and contemporary quilts. Plus there will be plenty of demonstrations, special exhibits, raffles and auctions, all sure to appeal to even the staunchest of stitchers. Fanfare of Quilts will be held at Queeny Park (550 Weidman Road, Ballwin) from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The $7 admission is good for entry on both days.
