Ready, Willing and Abell

If you don’t like the weather, to whom do you complain? Not Ben Abell; the voice of weather in St. Louis (as far as we’re concerned) just forecasts it, he doesn't create it. Storms may be brewin’, temperatures may be risin’, and that cold weather system hovering over the Great Plains looks like it’s spoiling for a fight –- but when Ben Abell tells you it’s coming, you don’t sweat it. The man who understands the value of a well-timed pause may be retired from the airwaves, but tonight at 7 p.m. at the Brentwood Public Library (8675 Eulalie Avenue, Brentwood; 314-963-8630), Abell discusses the weather live and in person at a free talk entitled “Weather and Climate Change.” Will we weep tears of joy at one more chance to hear the master discourse on meteorological matters? Well, as the man says, “I can’t rule it out.”
