Rafia Zafar is Professor of English, African and African American Studies, and American Culture Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Professor Zafar is the author or editor of four books, including the two volume Harlem Renaissance Novels (Library of America, 2011) and We Wear the Mask: African Americans Write American Literature, 1760-1870 (Columbia UP, 1997). She has a forthcoming monograph under contract at the University of Georgia on the intersection of food, authorship, and American identities.
